Bitting Consultation, Soberton, Hampshire
I attended Ian’s bitting clinic yesterday at the Richardson's beautiful yard in South Hampshire because I wanted to ensure my precious boy was comfortable in his mouth.
What a revelation - I have always had a loose ring snaffle on my chap and he has never softened and worked well – I thought it was either my poor riding or him being green or a combination of both.
Ian explained and demonstrated the effect of the action of my current snaffle on my hand - I can see why my boy didn’t soften - so, Ian put in a different bit which was anatomically suited to his type of mouth, lips tongue etc so it had much kinder, comfortable action and instantly he softened and really started to move in a far more comfortable longer frame.
My friend and I got some wonderful advice and had an extremely enjoyable time. I cannot recommend his clinic enough it was money so well spent and as directed I will be back in touch in a few months with an update of our progress.
